More than 200 hikers annually are rescued from @PhoenixParks and preserves. During the hot summer months, hiking can be extremely dangerous.

Please note: Phoenix is currently under an Extreme Heat Warning which means select trails are restricted from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Improvements are coming to Echo Canyon Trail! 🌵🚧 From September 2-18, Echo Canyon Trail will be closed for construction while we install new automatic gates, tail posts, and entrance curbing. In the meantime, trail users can access Camelback via Cholla Trail.

Extreme heat affects everyone, no matter how experienced you are. When temperatures climb, your body works overtime to cool itself, and dehydration can set in fast. ⛰️⚠️

The Trail Heat Safety Program restricts select trails in Phoenix from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on days when the National Weather Service issues an Extreme Heat Warning.
