NEW LOGO

Poway HS underwent a "rebranding" last spring, creating new logos and other imagery across all the programs on campus (including baseball.) If you're creating graphics that refer to us, please use this new "P" logo instead of the old Purdue-styled one:

Notable:
X was a multi-sport athlete for much of high school--two years of basketball, three years of football, behind four years of baseball. His parents were wise and reasoned in their support of him.

His is an informed voice to consider.

Xavier Scruggs '05 says he's going to write more about what parents should know about raising their athletic children:

Tony Gwynn could’ve gone 0-for-1199 at the end of his career and still retired as a .300 hitter. Think about that for a minute.

Awful Announcing readers rate the Padres radio team, featuring Anthony Gwynn '00, as the best in baseball:

4pm at home with #12 Grossmont

(Softball hosts #11 RBV simultaneously right behind us. Parking will be busy!)

As CIF notes in the playoff bulletin, most division championship games are TBD, based on who qualifies and which teams have graduation scheduled on the 28th/29th. They are wisely avoiding conflicts. (This didn't always happen!)

[Poway HS ⚾ @PHSBaseballLive]

The brackets DID come out Saturday afternoon as expected.

We're the #5 seed, we host #12 Grossmont at 4pm on Tuesday. The winner travels to #4 Santa Fe Christian on Wednesday at 4pm

SFC was ranked 5th. Thanks to dropping two close games to them back in March/early April, we get swapped and they get the bye.

(This is why early-season games against division opponents are important!)
