Piedmont vs. Cleveland highlights 📽️

The Bulldogs won 51-19, rushing for 403 yards and forcing 4 INTs. Michael Stitts ran for 137 yards and a TD, while Justin Amberson added a 45-yard pick-six.

Nick Birdsong’s Anniston Star feature spotlighted Piedmont legend Mickey Jackson before the 3A state title game. “Big Mick” entered with 84 tackles and 11 sacks, anchoring the Bulldog defense.

This Aug. 28, 1958 Anniston Star article by George Smith previewed the Bulldogs as a “darkhorse” for the Calhoun County title.

It featured All-County QB Carlton Rankin, captains Thomas Bible and Buddy Burrows, and Coach Bill Farrell’s squad before opening at Hokes Bluff.
