This week we successfully implemented the electronic administration system used in PHU in simulation training! A lot of work from our Pharmacist System Manager, IT Team and the Digimeds Team in PHU to ensure we could offer realistic training to all staff 👏👏👏@PHUDIGITAL
Yesterday we had great discussions to improve practice and safety with the Interventional Radiology Team. They had to manage a patient with anaphylaxis caused by contrast administration 💉 @AElrick_PHU@RGonzalezPHU
We continued our week with 2 back to back sessions for the Cardiology Department Nurses. Assessment, escalation, team work and using the femostop! The participants were impressed with Vivien’s realism and @peterthesimtech moulage of an arterial femoral hematoma @RGonzalezPHU
We started the week with 2 groups for Military Preceptorship with Nurses and ODPs and another 2 groups of our Nursing Preceptorship! Special participation of @marianne_MDG of our @phuresusdepart and the Military Practice Educators 👏

Wednesday we supported our Paeds ED Team with an in situ simulation. They had to manage a major haemorrhage scenario on a 16 year old pregnant patient. Practicing emergencies with the real teams and learning with each other 👏 @peterthesimtech@BSAtkinson@RGonzalezPHU
This morning in our in situ maternity theatres Simulation 🤰starting with a simulated patient for assessment, emergency transfer to theatres and C-section using a manikin. Managing ruptured uterus and foetal distress. Several teams training together! @peterthesimtech
Wednesday was dedicated to our Nursing Preceptorship! 2 groups caring for deteriorating patients and practicing cardiac arrest management. Great discussions about team work, communication and compassion as well 👏 @AElrick_PHU@RGonzalezPHU@peterthesimtech
Tuesday we had our first in situ in the Head and Neck ward using our new wearable tracheostomy manikin! Management of tracheostomy care and emergencies and testing new emergency trolleys and boxes implemented in the Trust @emmawsimulation@RGonzalezPHU @NatalieJane_SA
