When my folks find me here’s an update:
• 90 + days sober
• Finishing a book about sobriety
• Writing a book to help 16-20 yr old black men with their mental health and trauma
• Made the Dean’s List at school
• Therapy, psych appts and AA sponsor with meds has helped alot
We watched in real time as DEI programs got rolled back and how funding for professional degrees became limited. They saw us trying to level up and they said AHT AHT. We still are few and far between in higher corporate positions. We don’t come together to put each other on, lift each other up or even strive for affluent predominately Black spaces
Give that negative voice in your head a dweeb ass name. Makes it easier to pull those thoughts out and address them head on.
eg: "ugh I can't believe I messed that up, I'm so useless." yeah ok, Gilbert
Men STRUGGLE with depression, anxiety and rejection.
They face mental health challenges and seek healing. Feeling pressure and experiencing pain, men need compassion and a safe space.
Reach out, brothers; you’re not alone. 💜
Banning loans for degrees in early childhood education is 100% an intentional and tactical move. No experts in that field means they can indoctrinate children at an early age making it easier to push propaganda on them as they become adults
My dysfunctional and estranged parents couldn’t even agree on a damn name lmaoooo
So I have my mother’s first name (Patricia) and my father’s middle. Last name hyphenated. Niggas were never married and split when I was 3 months old
Niggass
Depression doesn’t always scream.
Sometimes it just lingers in messy rooms, unread messages, missed appointments, and a body that can’t find the energy to care.
It’s the quietest kind of pain.
And that’s what makes it so isolating.
One of the most beautiful things about having a real community is watching what happens when somebody says:
“I lost my job.”
One person knows a hiring manager.
Another sends a referral.
Somebody reviews the resume.
Someone else forwards an opening.
That’s what networking is supposed to feel like.
Not collecting LinkedIn connections like Pokémon cards.
It’s having people who will actually move when your name comes up in the room.
🚨 Suicide prevention 🚨
- We lose over 800,000 people per year to suicide
- Suicide is the 10th biggest cause of death worldwide
- Two of the leading factors that contribute to suicide is feeling like a burden and being isolated
it’s not attention seeking or weakness
Rich people send their kids to $60,000/year private schools, then vote to defund public education. They don't want school choice, they want their kids separated from yours. Segregation is the goal. "Choice" is the language.
Depression isn’t just sadness; it’s a living nightmare far beyond a fleeting emotion.
Comparing it to sadness is like comparing a paper cut to a broken leg.
Sadness is a normal part of life but depression eats away at you from the inside out.
Let’s raise awareness and support those struggling. #MentalHealthMatters
Don’t hesitate to reach out to people in your life, even those you spoke to yesterday. Just because they seem okay or you think they’re surrounded by support doesn’t mean everything’s perfect. Moments feelings thoughts and choices can all change. Connection truly matters.
