@SheilahGashumba Men and women of God, sometimes silence speaks louder than anger. If the miracles are genuine, let your works speak for themselves instead of trading insults. The pulpit should represent humility, wisdom, and integrity, not endless arguments

@mkainerugaba Kampala will be great. Letโs make the policies, but more importantly, letโs implement them and follow through. We donโt want policies to be made today and disappear tomorrow. We want to see them working on the ground, just like our brothers in Rwanda. ๐บ๐ฌ๐ท๐ผ
@M_Kananura National Cleaning Day is a good initiative, but as a country, we need to first address the root cause of the problem. A country that has normalized the use of polythene bags will keep cleaning endlessly if we donโt deal with the source of the waste first. ๐โป๏ธ

Starting Monday, 24th August, no DMC Taxis will be allowed within the Greater Kampala-Metropolitan Area.
I have directed @PoliceUg to launch a 100-day operation in the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area targeting commuter taxis found to be in a Dangerous Mechanical Condition (DMC).
Our roads must not become death traps because of poorly maintained vehicles.
The operation will particularly focus on the dilapidated 14-seater taxis commonly known as โGanyegenya.โ
Public transport must be safe, roadworthy and fit for purpose. We owe Ugandans nothing less.
UPDATE - Works and Transport Minister Fred Byamukama has given taxi owners and operators until Monday to remove vehicles in poor mechanical condition from the roads. The directive is part of a 100-day campaign starting in Greater Kampala to improve road safety.

@HonByamukama@PoliceUg We are so proud of you for putting the lives and safety of Ugandans first. This 100-day campaign to remove unserviced and unsafe taxis from our roads is a bold step toward saving lives. May God guide and strengthen you. Our prayers are with you! ๐บ๐ฌ๐
@M_Kananura@Maya Driving under the influence is not a small mistake itputs innocent lives at risk. I would urge the authorities to enforce the law firmly arrest and prosecute where appropriate, suspend or revoke the driverโs licence, impose the applicable fines, and ensure repeat offenders face
To Minister @BalaamBarugahar thank you for standing out and saying, in action, โEnough is enough. I must fight corruption.โWe need more leaders who will choose action over silence, accountability over comfort, and the interests of the people over personal interests.
@TonyNatif@MoWT_Uganda@PoliceUg We need to see these road safety laws working on our roads. Overloading, reckless driving, speeding, corruption, and riding motorcycles without helmetsโboth riders and passengersโcannot continue as if they are normal.
@PoliceUg@M_Kananura Let people know that when you break the law, there are consequences. If someone is caught repeatedly driving dangerously, let the law take its course: fines, suspension or withdrawal of licences, court action, and where appropriate, imprisonment.
