The Bureau of Indian Standards (@IndianStandards) conducted an enforcement operation in Chennai on 22 October 2026, seizing 300 lithium-ion batteries bearing unauthorised and invalid BIS registration numbers. Further legal action will be initiated under the BIS Act, 2016.

தமிழகத்தில் 6 முதல் 23 மாதங்கள் வயதுடைய குழந்தைகளில் 20.6 சதவீதத்தினருக்கு மட்டுமே போதுமான ஊட்டச்சத்துள்ள உணவு கிடைப்பதாக, தேசிய குடும்ப சுகாதாரக் கணக்கெடுப்பு (NFHS-6) தரவுகள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன எ‌ன்று தமிழக சுகாதாரத்துறை அமைச்சர் டாக்டர் அருண்ராஜ் கூறியுள்ளார்.

குழந்தைகளின் ஊட்டச்சத்தை மேம்படுத்த பல்வேறு தரப்பினருடன் இணைந்து தமிழக அரசு நடவடிக்கைகளை மேற்கொண்டு வருவதாகவும் அவர் தெரிவித்தார்.
