Instagram is hell bent on me following certain artists but one caught my eye. Their work is REALLY good but skimming through their folio I found some unusual things.
How does an artist go from producing work on the left to work on the right in just 2 years?
I think I know....
“I think this idea that an algorithm can just scrape all of human history & art off the internet, repackage it, regurgitate it, spit it out & somebody else can use that to create profit … I don’t know why that’s legal.”
Hopefully it’s not (legal).
@Variety
@philshelly Couldn't agree more. The first 40 minutes was SO good, then it started to reveal its hand and it was... just... really dumb!? On paper, loads of it sound cool (satan! creepy dolls! plot twist!) but put together up on the screen it was a mess.
It's painfully clear that they used M*djourney to generate the majority of this artwork. I imagine the client was not aware of this (or the copyright implications). The saddest thing is that this job for @GarrettSeminary@FaithfullyBP could have gone to an actual illustrator.

And here's an interior illustration they also created for the same publication. You can see their credit along the right hand side of the page. Oh and here's a screenshot of their MJ profile. Look familiar?

theres a lot of really interesting problems to solve here. like how do we make the AI remember where blocks are placed?
and then you think about it for 2 seconds and the answer to every problem is "program Minecraft normally". so what is the point of AI here. why does this exist
wow i swear i've seen a game just like this before. it's almost like millions of hours of footage of the best selling game of all time is required to train an AI to produce a worse version of it.
@Roze_th38 I know! It's really hard. Especially when the artist in question has 160k+ followers on Instagram. How do you reach those people? Will they even care?
I can only hope that hope that someone with more clout than me will share it.

Food Fighters was an action figure line released by Mattel in 1988. Food Fighters consisted of ten figures, three vehicles, and an unproduced playset, and the characters were divided into two armies: the Kitchen Commandos and Refrigerator Rejects.
