Pi Nodes will usable on PC/Mac/Linux. Its been recommended by Dr. Nicolas Kokkalis to use x86. Pi Nodes and their software do not restart frequently as that would cause them to be less relied upon by the network. The guidelines surrounding the usage of nodes will follow soon.
