@0xpatterns@neet_sol haha I had a similar experience
was working doing bus boy front house shit at some swanky restaurant and told the chef i wanted to get some shifts in the kitchen as a cook, then one night the dishwasher didn't show up so he told me to hop in and I refused
yeah I lost that job
@landgrab7@seekingaround17 tbh I learned how to crack clams from watching the gulls drop them on the sand, I just pick them up and huck them as high as I can and they crack open when they land on the compact tidal sand
@landgrab7@seekingaround17 nice, very informative, and now that you mention I have seen them dive bombing schools of sardines or whatever small fish are in the bay
I've just been playing, I do like these guys
that's why I share my clams with them
but they do some pretty bird brained shit sometimes
@landgrab7@seekingaround17 scavengers yes, they usually wait around the people who eat fish n chips and throw their scraps at them, hunters? I've never seen a seagull hunt anything and I've lived on the seaside my whole life
no, often times I throw my clams at them and they get scared and fly off so I have to pick it up and cautiously approach a different group and hold it up so they can clearly see the meat then place it down slowly and walk away and if I turn to look at them they fly off so I have to have my back turned before they have the guts to actually approach the meal and when one does the rest pounce on him and they all fight over it, there is no cohesion or hierarchy just a free for all fight anytime one gets something valuable and most of the time they just stand around doing nothing with a dead empty look in their profoundly stupid eyes
@seekingaround17@landgrab7 I've been going down to the beach and smashing clams open and eating the good parts and giving the scraps to these fuckers
it's been fun
