The best discovery of our road trip has been a musician called Ella Langley. We had never heard of her before, but after hearing her on pretty much every country radio station, we’ve become big fans. She’s basically the soundtrack of our trip.
If anyone knows anything about sports, this is on the city of Chicago and Illinois inability to actually be responsible with city and state finances. Fyi, it is the city, not the Bears who couldn’t pay off the public bonds for Solider Field in 2003 which has ballooned its debt.
This whole issue is insane, finance the stadium, help the team and help the city. People advocating against this have 0 idea about how investments and the overall economic advantage this has to the city.
This is a ridiculous take, the Rays have been a staple of Tampa for years. The investment into this team is crucial for development and investment into the city. It’s funny how there is no criticism over the funding for the Bucs and Lightning but somehow the Rays are an issue?
Governor, respectfully, I’m surprised at your position. They there are asking for our property taxes; our infrastructure dollars earmarked for roads, sewers and safety; and our hurricane disaster disaster funds. This is the largest public outlay by far and for the smallest stadium ever. Please, do better.
Well, get ready to compete against FL schools who will up the standard on fringe benefits: customized waterbeds, lifetime notary authority and round-the-clock reserved booths at Beefs. Game
On!
Glad to just randomly be going through my For You section here on X and have found a guy who is also from Florida who has the same last name as me. No relation but still kinda cool!
The original door knocking handout has been found - there’s no better way to meet your neighbors.
Have always been proud to represent my hometown of Coral Springs!
Also, what other MLB stadium had an Outback Steakhouse built into it until 2017?
Nothing will top watching a Rays game while chomping on a Bloomin Onion.
I used to think this but I’ve been swayed. With the A’s move and it’s the closest thing to a dive bar we have left in the big 4
Stuff like that needs to be preserved
.@SenLummis: "Can you tell us a little bit about your conversations with President Trump regarding interest rates?"
Fed chair nominee Kevin Warsh: "I never said to the President where I think rates should be…I wouldn't have even thought of doing so."
I think overall this is gunna be a huge win for Hillsborough and for the city itself. The CIT increase will help cover some costs but there is still a clear gap. However, the amount of investment into the Bay area from this project is going to be immense. Hope this gets done!
Commissioner Myers didn't speak much, but did reiterate the hope is they can have the Rays in Tampa. Money remains an obvious issue.
"I'm hoping that between the two parties we can come to an agreement on the financing where the county would not be cut short."
