@jasonomahony@afneil Reform are less likely to win if the EU is publicly supportive of the UK rejoining. It would force Reform to own the current Brexit agreement. If they get in then talks stop and what has the EU really lost.
@jasonomahony@afneil That’s why it should be process that goes beyond a single electoral cycle. But the EU should be publicly supportive while making it clear it needs to be the settled position of the UK public.
@jasonomahony@afneil Kindness and the ability to say we told you so. It would also kill off any idea of another country exit. It would also piss off the MAGA crowd.
The double-decker bus pulled to a stop at a red light. The driver rolled down his window and raised his bubble gun.

A tremendous appeal!
Positive, confident and unashamedly reminding us that when we take big steps, the arc of history can always be bent.
Change is nothing to be feared, neither is ignorance an excuse to hide from it.
And, of course, Farnham's song hits all the right notes!
@jasonomahony It really depends on how much the EU wants the UK to rejoin and emphasis how much Brexit has failed. Offering the UK membership on the same terms it left on would all but guarantee the burial of euroseptic ideas across the union.
