I’m thrilled that our panel was a full house, and I had the opportunity to present on how combining academic & activist efforts can drive meaningful change in human rights, specifically in gendered social justice. My talk focused on key areas:
- #Turkey’s state-led & state-sanctioned oppression
- gendered racialization & institutionalized discrimination and violence
- transnational #feminism against gendered #Islamophobia
- creating counter-hegemonic spaces for #resistance
The feedback I received after my presentation was incredibly empowering & productive, opening up exciting possibilities for impactful collaborative work & new perspectives on affect and embodiment.
