I did software update on Tuesday 8/12/2025 evening on my 2022 tesla Y, and on Wednesday, I started to get this BMS-a079 error.
Trying to schedule a service, the earliest one is 4 days away. So I guess I will stay at the hotel for extended time now.

BMS_a079 happened a several days ago while I was sitting in it listening to music in the parking lot. Seems other Tesla owners in the last couple days experienced the same issue….. hmmm I wonder if it’s coincidence…..
