After a century of self-government, there is a lot to be satisfied about in #Ireland. And no, I am not complacent & nor do I believe that all is rosy for us, but in comparative terms our record is a positive one, although it can be further improved. That’s our coming challenge.

Visited the #Minnesota Historical Society today & was shown a photo from its collection of Vice-President Mondale (a Minnesota native) with one of my predecessors as Ambassador @IrelandEmbUSA, Seán Donlon. The photo was taken on St Patrick’s Day, 1979.
Further evidence of the Irish connection with #Minnesota at the Minnesota Historical Society. The regimental badge of the 1st Minnesota Regiment which sustained very heavy losses during the American Civil War.
I hope National and local leaders noticed, during these pandemic times, that there is not enough outdoor and recreational spaces for our fresh air needs.
