As part of the Embassy’s outreach to Japan’s regions, Ambassador Abdul Hameed visited Hokkaido’s Hidaka region on 8 October 2026 to strengthen local ties and explore opportunities for cooperation.

During his visit, he met Mr. Yuji Kobayashi, member of the Hokkaido Prefectural Assembly and engaged with Mayor of Biratori Town.

The Ambassador also visited Niikappu, where he met Mayor Yamamoto, mayors of neighbouring municipalities, community leaders and business executives. The visit provided an opportunity to deepen connections between Pakistan and Hokkaido’s local communities.

Highlighted various OIC mechanisms including its subsidiary, specialized & affiliated institutions that focus on promoting intra-OIC trade, dispute resolution & synchronization of standards across the OIC. Underlined that 🇵🇰 strategic location, young population, industrial base & investment opportunities make it an ideal partner for OIC Member States seeking reliable markets & collaborative ventures.
