@louderry I think it’s a widely accepted fact that VAT on school fees has failed as a policy - net loss of teachers in state sector since introduced, and net loss of private schools which, even if you don’t care about the children, have cost thousands of jobs. Lose lose all round.
@gig_itty_gig@wartsandbrawls Amazing what you can achieve when you prioritise your children’s education over personal discretionary spending. Worked hard, saved in advance, two ordinary parents with no stratospheric salary.
@sebserlo@christopherhope Like pre drinks, but sleeping, in preparation for a late night. Came onto my radar aged 30, now a staple for any night which threatens to finish later than 9pm…
@mccourt_mccourt Socialist ideology is always about levelling down, never about levelling up.
Pray tell exactly how would an extra 7% intake into the state sector, including disproportionately high number of children with SEN, would improve the state sector?
@danohagan Great point. If they had 11 different players, this English team would have played different matches and (probably) ended in different results….
@jollyman56 Scotland is a small insignificant county in England, so inevitable you receive English broadcasting. Enjoy the result of the tournament 👍🏴
@StanCollymore One good half yet three W’s?
Knockout football is different. It doesn’t matter how you win, just that you do. Kane exceptional but he was fed the ball. It’s a team game, which the England team won. Again.
@AvonandsomerRob That’s football. Gordon looked lacking as a starter, but when teams press hard they’re always going to be vulnerable in last half hour. As a sub he gets more space, does the damage, and Kane is the best finisher in the game. Pop the kettle on, it’s coming home.
