Petition to forfeit the rest of the Red Sox season. I’d rather watch literally anything other than this boring ass, offensively inept dogshit baseball team. Please free me from this prison-like hellscape.
Aurelio Padovani, an early Fascist leader who has fallen out of favor with Benito Mussolini, dies mysteriously along with eight others when a balcony collapses in Naples, Italy.
His supporters claim that Fascists engineered the balcony to fall.

🪖 Merrill’s Marauders: WWII’s Forgotten Jungle Legends
In Burma’s brutal jungles, nearly 3,000 American volunteers became Merrill’s Marauders (5307th Composite Unit). Under Brig. Gen. Frank Merrill, they marched 1,000+ miles behind Japanese lines in 1944, fought 5 major battles, and captured the vital Myitkyina airfield.
Disease and exhaustion ravaged them worse than combat — only ~130 remained combat-ready by August. Their sacrifice helped keep China fighting and tied down enemy forces.
Honored with the Congressional Gold Medal in 2022, these men embodied unbreakable grit in the overlooked CBI Theater.
True heroes of the “forgotten war.”

The Doors taking a break to eat at a Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles in 1970. Photographer Henry Diltz was always the best at capturing these everyday moments. Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, and John Densmore were shifting toward a much heavier, blues-driven sound during this era. Drop a comment and tell us if you prefer their early psychedelic sound or their later blues-rock albums!
