Since you asked here you go - Decades of underinvestment, aging infrastructure, declining federal role in funding, regulatory compliance, population growth, supplies outpacing demand ... if anything the state has actually stepped up its role in funding infrastructure while most water rates have not aligned with what it actually costs to provide the infrastructure we need. Its not that difficult
Watched most of this yesterday until the conclusion of the council meeting and it’s one of the most unfortunate events I’ve ever witnessed - the future of the entire community is now at risk.
After a 15-hour meeting, Corpus Christi city council voted to delay a decision on reviving a desalination plant.
It's going to revisit the plan on Sept. 1.
Desal supporters are disappointed its getting delayed. Opposers are upset it wasn't killed.

“Not everyone in the neighborhood opposes the project. We're crying about we don't have no water, right? Then again we don't want to desal water. Why not?"
Salinas said he understands his neighbors' concerns but believes water needs have to come first.
Big day tomorrow and the future water security of Corpus Christi is on the line. Protesting and complaining isn't going to secure the water future of this community or make the solutions any less expensive. At the end of the day the only certainty for Corpus is to proceed with the Inner Harbor project. https://t.co/bNhnDQbGei via @TexasTribune #txwater #desal
