Most people don’t know that The Pieta was housed in the Old St Peter’s, where lighting would fall down onto the artwork from above, rather than shining upwards onto it as we see it today
That means Michelangelo originally sculpted this with the intention of Mary’s face having shadows over it and Christ’s body being illuminated in contrast
The symbolism would be something like her, like us, being somewhere in between sorrow for the Crucified Christ and hopeful in His Resurrection
It’s interesting how subtle changes, even just the lighting, changes the meaning we take away from art
Consider making the 9 First Fridays if you haven't or want to do them again. I have heard countless stories from priests of death bed conversions (from Catholics who left the faith), with one common thread: they all had made First Fridays earlier in the lives, many in Catholic grade school.
The US Bishops will, for the first time, consecrate the entire country to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 11th, during the month of the Sacred Heart and the 250th anniversary of the America.
Miserentissimus Redemptor (“The Most Merciful Redeemer”) is a papal encyclical issued by Pope Pius XI on May 8, 1928, promoting devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus with particular emphasis on the duty of reparation (expiation or honorable satisfaction) for sins.
The encyclical highlights how, amid cooling Christian charity and errors such as Jansenism, Christ revealed His Sacred Heart to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque as a sign of love, peace, and charity. It presents this devotion as a timely remedy for modern spiritual crises, building on the teachings of previous popes, especially Leo XIII.
Pius XI strongly endorses the consecration of individuals, families, societies, and the entire human race to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, affirming Christ’s kingship over all creation. This act acknowledges God’s love and sovereignty.
The encyclical stresses that consecration must be accompanied by reparation — making amends for sins and offenses against God through penance, prayer, and sacrifice. This includes:
◦The Communion of Reparation (especially on First Fridays).
◦The Holy Hour of prayer.
◦Participation in Christ’s sufferings for the sake of the Church.
All Christians, as members of Christ’s Body, share in His priestly office. Through reparation, the faithful join their offerings to Christ’s sacrifice on the Cross, contributing to the expiation of sins for themselves and others.
The devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus fosters deeper knowledge and love of Christ, hatred of sin, and spiritual renewal. Pius XI urges bishops to promote these practices among the faithful to restore Christian life and counter widespread irreligion and moral decline.
In essence, the encyclical presents devotion to the Sacred Heart not merely as pious sentiment but as a profound act of justice and love, uniting believers with Christ’s redemptive work. It remains a foundational document for Sacred Heart spirituality in our Catholic tradition.

@MAHAjanie@EricLDaugh At this point they have to cheat, otherwise, they are all going to jail once the Pratt and Hilton are in office, and they know it. There's nothing they won't do, even with all of us watching, all having "been to this rodeo before."
Before anyone gets too excited about the primaries in California, an important question from my friend Ralph Pezzullo who wrote a book on this:
“Are the people aware that LA county (the largest and most politically important county in the country) is the only district in America where elections are run by Smartmatic.”, a company that is currently facing indictments for election interference in Federal court in southern Florida?”

Because it’s obvious sodomy is unnatural, destructive (to the soul and anatomically), and disgusting. And the more its nature is openly discussed, the more it becomes (rightly) reviled.
Of course, we love those who struggle with same-sex attraction and sins such as these. I am prone to my own set of sinful behavior, about which I must be ever-vigilant and repent if I fall. Those who would flatter me otherwise don’t “love” me—in truth, they hate me.
So I will never hate my brothers and sisters who struggle with such sins by supporting them in them.
Those who engage in sodomy and related sins are in the exact same boat as me: sinners in need of repentance. To embrace “pride” in such behaviors is, in truth, to hate sinners, not love them. It is to consign their souls to Satan.
True love says to that: “No.”

I hate to be "Debbie Downer," here, but 40% of the CA votes are still out, many likely waiting to be used as cheat votes. We might want to hold off on those celebrations, especially knowing that Newsom passed a "no signature needs to match," emergency law in the last 48 hours.
This IS IMPOSSIBLE, and yet, the Senate will not pass the Save America Act.

Republican Steve Hilton just had a legendary moment after his historic performance in California’s governor primary.
He told a crowd of his supporters a story about Arnold Schwarzenegger — and by the end the whole place erupted into “U-S-A!” chants.
HILTON: “I remember when I became an American citizen, that certain governor, you may remember, he said, congratulations.”
“He made a very nice video. He said, but Steve, you got...the wrong jacket. You got the wrong jacket!”
“And I made a pledge that day that one day I would get the jacket that Arnold told me to get on my road to being governor of California.”
“And here it is. I am a proud American!”
[Opens his jacket]
“There’s the jacket!”
“And I am a very proud Californian, a very proud...a very proud Californian tonight.”
“Arnold, that was for you!”
[Crowd breaks out into U-S-A! chants]

Widely acclaimed as one of the greatest duets of all time, this 1987 archival footage from Ibiza captures the iconic song "Barcelona." It stands as a vivid testament to the perfect fusion of Montserrat Caballé’s sublime operatic vocals and Freddie Mercury’s captivating stage presence—a masterpiece that left an indelible mark on music history and went on to become the official and defining anthem of the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona.

‘‘’Bad time, troubled times’, these people say. Let our lives be good, and the times will be good. We make our times; as we are, so are the times.” (St. Augustine, Sermon 80,8)
🚨Election Fraud News:
Gavin Newsom authorized an emergency law shortly before today’s primary allowing mail-in ballot signatures not matching the voter’s registration record to get counted while going unchallenged.
What is your message to him about that?
Senator John Fetterman says he was the only Democrat on the Senate's Fraud Exploratory Committee to vote in favor of opening an investigation into Malia Obama's suspicious USAID grants when she was still living at the White House in 2007.
"She was just a kid," said Fetterman, "So shouldn't we be looking at how a high school girl snatched $2.3 million for writing pen pal letters to a few dozen kids in Africa?"
Fetterman says the party's refusal to investigate its own people is the main reason he believes there will be a red wave in November.
"Nobody sees it coming, but mark my words."

5 years ago the number one story in the world was the death of George Floyd.
We now know that Floyd was a career criminal junkie who died of a fentanyl overdose while resisting arrest and committing crimes.
But they told you at the time that George Floyd was killed by 'institutional racism' and 'police brutality.'
It was a lie -- but the media amplified the lie infinitely and made Floyd a household name.
Now we witness the death of Henry Nowak, who really did *actually* die because of institutional racism and police brutality.
MEDIA: Silence.
They don't care because the victim is white. The only real institutional racism that exists in the West is against white people.
Henry was stabbed in the neck FIVE TIMES by an indian migrant, carrying a "religious blade," claiming that Henry was being 'mean' to him so he deserved to die.
Then the police left Henry to bleed out in the streets while handcuffed and coddling the migrant killer and his family.
This is worse than the George Floyd story, and its all true.
Henry deserves the same justice and reverence that was incorrectly awarded to George Floyd. He may not get the headlines, but Henry will spark a Revolution all the same.
