Comparison of expansion and voltage differential indicators for battery capacity fade (relevance: 100%) https://t.co/elGkSiq4GJ #battchat#batterytwitter
The experiment in this work covers a wide range of stress factors for battery aging. The dataset is available here if you are interested: https://t.co/TXcFyopcoc
Excited to share our recent work on comparing voltage and expansion differential signals for capacity estimation w/ @anna_energy & others. You can access the PDF for the next 50 days at the following link: https://t.co/4jFlpAMUFZ
Key finding: differential expansion signal has a higher correlation to the capacity fade compared to the differential voltage + remaining observable at high C rates up to 1C.
This is great work led by Andrew Weng, who really put in the extra mile to get to the bottom of what we were seeing in the data.
Lots of amazing insights in this paper; quick 🧵 on the main one, which showcases the explanatory power of very simple models (OCV + kinetics)
we have identified internal resistance, measured immediately after cells are made, as a key indicator of how long a battery will last. We used it with fast formation. details and free downloads till Dec 10 at https://t.co/SIxzuK2rMy

New preprint on arxiv led by @PMohtat
We propose a fast charging algorithm that automatically minimizes charge time while satisfying voltage, overpotential, stress, and temp constraints. This is achieved simply by adding a single ODE to any model.
