@Kayentakatae@ShinyResurgence Weren't crocodilian egg shells soft and not mineralized like dinosaur? Soft eggs being easier to retain in the body cavity until hatching? If I'm missing something do tell.
Be wary of people like this. Under their guise of friendliness and intellectualism, they are not looking for genuine discussion where they themselves can learn. They are looking to assert themselves as having more brain cells than they actually have.
@TheRiddleWarden @stopstarekiss This doesn’t happen nearly as much as you think. A loud enough village puts off practically all wildlife semi/dangerous to humans in an area. People that live near or in forests aren’t medieval peasants under the threat of dragons 24/7, stop romanticizing animal violence.
@SOPHONTSIMP Not to mention the “mermaids purses” that certain sharks lay, which have a straight up yolk sack just like the eggs of reptiles who also perform internal fertilization.
@TheCentralObse1@TalesofKaimere I guess that environmental heat could help, but I don’t know if it’s enough. All flying vertebrates have some form of insulating fluff for heat loss.
I chock their heat loss defenses up to deep group sleeps as well as a constant inflow of calories from insects.
@TalesofKaimere "That said, much of their flight is gliding, sometimes with wings only half open."
What's the reasoning for this? To more easily navigate tight jungle spaces like most arboreal gliding animals? Or is it a similar ordeal to forest dwelling raptors having shorter wings?
@ausar_the Being able to understand the nuances of dinosaur metabolism and avian unidirectional airflow that most laymen don't, but then implying that T-rex was flying under flipped physics is so jarring.
@MbvBaryonix As lovely and impressive as they are, we need more spec evo dragons based off of medieval bestiaries rather than Azhdarchids and Game of Thrones.
@JoschuaKnuppe Great! Soon, or in some months or years? Either way it's fine, your designs and description of dragon fire are incredible contributions to the spec evo community.
