@bikeshopgirlcom I can’t help but think of my partner who grew up in a small enclave about 5-10 miles outside of a small city in southern Oregon. His house was on a rural highway. When he needed to go to school, or to his first job, or town, there was no choice but to drive and be driven.
Went out for a quick bike ride to Mt Tabor and came across people sitting in their cars, idling, and people using gas-powered leaf blowers and cutters all around.
I guess gasoline is not expensive enough yet.
We live in a society where violence, including murder, in response to touching someone's car is normalized. And by extension, touching a car as it is being driven dangerously close to you makes you 'an extremist' or 'unhinged' etc.
Knocked on their car bc they were in the bike lane and they raged out. I shouldn’t have príveles them but I am so damn tired of being put in danger bc people are too lazy to find a real place to park.
Trying to convince myself that a passenger of a passing vehicle didn’t just throw urine on myself and my son as they passed me in the bike lane. #roadrage#pedalparent#workcyclesfr8
I had to brake suddenly to avoid a minivan that was pulling out of a driveway without stopping for traffic. My bike slid out from under me on the wet pavement and I broke my glasses on my face. I’m just glad my toddler wasn’t with me.
Luckily I was seen by a pretty skilled physician who patched me up well. But I’m bruised all over and have a sore back and black eye in addition to being without my bike for several days.

ANTI-VAXX PROTESTER: Do you see all of these homeless people around. Are they dead in the street with COVID? Hell no. Why?
HOMELESS PERSON (walking by): Because I’m vaccinated you dumb fuck.
