I’m reaching out on behalf of the Popcat community on Solana and more broadly, the growing ecosystem of crypto communities on X.

We were hoping to better understand why the @POPCATSOLANA account was banned recnetly. The account had been active for over two years and was a central hub for a large, organic community, so its removal was genuinely disappointing for many of us who have built culture, relationships, and momentum around it.

One issue this situation surfaced is structural: when community-driven accounts are operated by informal teams(original account holder sold account(in hopes to sell to community), account keys sometimes change hands in ways that don’t reflect actual community ownership or alignment. In our case, this eventually forced us to rely on delegate access, which proved fragile and led to the account ending up controlled by someone who clearly did not share the Popcat
community’s values or long-term vision.

With that context, I wanted to ask two things:
1Is there any possibility for the account to be restored back to the community?
2More broadly, is there a path for community-owned accounts to exist with shared or multisig-style ownership potentially incorporating Web3-based verification so that large decentralized communities can responsibly steward accounts without the risks of single-key ownership?

As crypto-native communities continue to grow, this feels like an increasingly relevant problem. I’d be more than happy to contribute perspective, share our journey, or collaborate on thinking through real-world use cases if this is an area you’re interested in exploring.
