Today is Ash Wednesday, the start of Lent, so I get to post my favourite painting: Christ in the Desert by Ivan Kramskoi, 1872
Even the stones stand at attendance to Him
As horrifying as it may be to see that true evil exists and is actively operating in our world, the Christian can find peace that True Good exists in contrast.
Evil is all about inversion. Satan’s vampiric children steal the blood of innocents, violates and eats them, treats the human race like cattle to be bred, used, consumed, and sacrificed. On the other hand, the good shepherd Jesus (who was truly innocent) sacrificed and offers his own blood and flesh to His followers. Jesus doesn’t blackmail or force people follow Him. He invites them.
Satan takes, Jesus gives.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
This year I am especially thankful for my family which has endured significant stress from my work schedule this year. My wife has been a trooper.
I am also eternally grateful for our community here.
I remain stunned by the success of my debut book, "When Violence is Virtue."
We live in times that try a man's soul. I suggest keeping this in the back of your brain housing group: "Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand." - Isaiah 41:10

@MattWalshBlog Your section about how public school intentionally misleads teachings about the civil war was spot on too. Anyone with the smallest knowledge of the civil war knows the character of both Lee/Jackson.
