What a fantastic Health & Wellbeing day today, even with the rain ☔️ . We tried new exercises to keep our bodies healthy, had fun with classroom yoga, learnt how to draw cartoon characters and then got to try fabulous gymnastics moves! ♥️ 💪 🤸

Today was our last toot whistle lesson with @gwentmusic We have had such a fantastic time learning how to play different notes and today we put all our skills together to play a wonderful piece of music. 🎶🎼🎵

We’ve had lots of fun in the forest today searching for ladybirds! We found ladybirds of the same colour and counted their spots by counting in 2s, 5s and 10s.

We’ve been super excited to see our caterpillars go into their pupa this week… we’ve written all about the life cycle of a butterfly! In language we thought about if we were butterflies where would we fly? Some gorgeous ideas - Bendigedig year 1 🦋

Today we read the story ‘My World, Your World’ and discovered how special it is that there are amazing similarities between us all - even if we are different in other ways too. #NoOutsiders

What a fun week of maths we’ve had. We’ve been searching for 3D shapes in our classroom and we used water to measure capacity.

Another busy week in year 1… we had a VERY special delivery this week. Caterpillars!!! We have made observational drawings and learnt all about the life cycle of a butterfly. In maths we set up our own shop and bought items practising our money skills 🦋

On Wednesday we made the most of the sun shining again. First we went outside to practice our throwing and catching skills. 🥎. In the afternoon we went to the forest where we created our own symmetrical butterflies using natural resources. 🦋

Wow, year 1 you were absolutely amazing in our class assembly - we are so PROUD of you 🫶 Clear, confident voices, beautiful singing and super toot playing! Da iawn pawb 👏

The sun is shining and we’ve been learning all about how shadows are made. We know a shadow appears when an object blocks the sun! We went outside to turn our own shadows into fabulous shadow people using natural resources. ☀️

We are so lucky to have started toot whistle lessons with @gwentmusic we had a fantastic time learning how to hold a toot and play different notes… we can’t wait to develop our skills 🎶🎼🎵

We had the best time on our trip to ⁦@VisitCyfarthfa⁩
We went on a quest in the castle, met spaceman Steve and Marsha the alien and helped fix her spaceship with ⁦@loubyloustories⁩ and finally we made cyanotype photography. Diolch all, the best day!

We had the best time using our maps to navigate around school on our Easter egg hunt! We managed to solve the clues, find the eggs and put all the letters together to find out the secret words! We were thrilled to win a chocolate treat for completing the trail🐣🔍 Diolch Y6 👏

What a busy week so far in Year 1! We’ve had a letter delivered from the Easter Bunny asking for our help. We’ve had to work hard taking a tally and making a pictogram to find out which Easter egg is the most popular in our class. 🐰
