🚨BREAKING: The Fed just delivered its most divided decision in years.

The Federal Reserve held its benchmark rate steady at 3.50%-3.75% for a 5th straight meeting,the longest streak of unchanged rates since the Great Financial Crisis.

This marks the first time since 2016 that three FOMC members have dissented in the same direction, with Cleveland's Beth Hammack, Minneapolis's Neel Kashkari, and Dallas's Lorie Logan all favoring a 25 basis point rate hike.

The Fed also said the economy continues to expand at a "solid pace," while inflation has now remained above its 2% target for 5 consecutive years.

This comes as inflation has now run above the Fed's 2% target for 5 consecutive years.

Furthermore, around half of FOMC officials already saw a rate hike as warranted before year-end, as of last month's meeting.

Officials favoring a hike argue that AI-driven demand, unlike tariff- or oil-driven inflation, is exactly the type of pressure that higher interest rates can help contain.

The case for another rate hike is building ahead of September's meeting.

BREAKING: South Korea's finance ministry just restricted single stock leveraged ETFs.

Here are the changes:

1. Individual investment in these products capped at 20% of total investment assets

2. Trading costs will go up to discourage excessive trading

3. New training requirements added for investors

4. Regulators preparing legal power to stabilize markets in emergencies, similar to rules used in Hong Kong

5. Deposit requirement rises to 30 million won, effective Friday, July 31

This comes after KOSPI crashed -20% in just 2 days.
