@M6tollRoad Big shout out to the civilians who ran to help without hesitation right after the horse box overturned before emergency services arrived. Does anyone know if the driver was ok? Really hope so. 🙏
@M6tollRoad I’m just behind the emergency vehicles and there’s a lorry overturned over all 4 lanes so that’s why they haven’t been able to get traffic moving. It’s frustrating, yes. But at least we are healthy and safe and not involved in the accident.
@BertDalziel Just to add to the mix he escaped when he was with us and ended up 2 gardens away. But when we went to the house to ask to look he wasn’t there. Came back and he was sitting quite disgruntled by the back door waiting to get back in. 🤣 I’d also worry someone might steal him. 😟
@deborahbrian@elegationvain@rebecca_ryder21 It’s kind of incredible that you’re trying to tell a gender dysphoric person who they are. And you think it’s in the name of inclusivity.
@StuartJRitchie Obviously you know I don’t think c sections are inherently bad, I had one and am very grateful! But I have a scar and adhesions now that will mean I risk my uterus rupturing with another pregnancy / labour / birth.
@StuartJRitchie Respectfully, as your pal, this is bollocks. The ‘overrated’ and ‘fine’ part I can get on board with but ‘actively bad / good?!’ C sections carry a higher risk of bleeding, infection, blood clots, neonatal unit admission & can complicate future pregnancies.
@criminographer Emily I think of your son Alexander often, he was born the same year as my daughter. I am so sorry to read about his beautiful little sister Isabelle. How utterly heartbreaking and cruel to have lost 2 children. I am so sorry.
@BertDalziel Monster spray works really well for A. We spray febreze in her room and say it’s monster spray so the monsters won’t be able to get in while simultaneously explaining that there are no such thing as monsters. 🤣
@millihill You definitely have a point, but I have a friend (a dad) who is the primary care giver in his (heterosexual) relationship and he refuses to join his daughter’s school WhatsApp group as it is called ‘_ School Mums’ He says he’s often viewed with suspicion in those situations.
This is such an important message from Hannah Barnes. Thank you for being vulnerable enough to share your experience. As a midwife and a mother reading about these awful experiences is hard to bear. Women deserve so much better.
This week's cover story for the @NewStatesman is probably the most difficult thing I've ever had to write, and certainly the most personal.
