College wallflower, eclectic creative, passionate and overwhelming, trying to forge a career path forward one semester and class at a time. Wish me luck!
13.2 Additional way social media can be used is by creating an app that allows students to communicate with each other and share their knowledge. If one student is weak in something, other student can help him. #GNED1411

I think it is really important for students to branch out of their comfort zones and join groups on social media related to classwork. This would provide students with new and updated information that a traditional teaching environment cannot do on its own.
This is such a nice reminder as sometimes we get so caught up and forget to have full and meaningful connections and conversations with one another #GNED1411

I will use what I have learned to be more aware, and more secure in my presence. I've never really employed much security/control over my online presence, and for my own wellbeing and future job security, that needs to change. Do SM smarter, not harder!
14.3.2 #GNED1411
The three most useful things I learned in this course; I have more control than I thought, being SM savvy is a lot of work, and take advantage of SM before it runs you over, but be smart about it. Once it's out there, so are you, so good luck!
#GNED1411 14.3.1
The most surprising thing I learned about SM is how interwoven it already is in our lives. There are so many more levels and layers of it than I had imagined, and it is growing and changing even as I tweet. There is almost no escaping it!
#GNED1411 14.2
I think communication via things like FaceTime or video messaging will make virtual appointments and interactions even more common and accessible. There are so many possibilities out there, its exciting to imagine what will come next because it's almost endless.
#GNED1411 14.1
SM will grow as the world does, adding new platforms as they develop, and increasing reach as time goes on. I look forward to seeing it connect even more people from the farthest reaches of the world, so that no one is left out and we are all familiar.
@djankovm When in the classroom social media use should be for learning. That is hard to regulate though, so I applaud the teacher who can make it work. Goes to show how hard it is to disconnect from even the simplest technologies sometimes!
@NatGriffin1998 I totally forgot about this feature, but I've done it too!! It can actually be a lot if fun to see what impact something so small can have. The same thing can be done on Google pages too, which is super helpful to the random questions people have that not everyone can answer.
@kaleybernard20 The ability of social media to cross cultural barriers is amazing, which is a blessing. Everyone who doesn't have a presence knows someone who does, it's almost impossible to escape. Awareness of causes ripples through one way or another!
@LuckhooNicole I'm not sure if I'll keep this account, or recreate it again in a way that is non-class related. Do you think you'll keep yours? I'm conflicted.
#GNED1411 13.1
This course will always stick out for me as being an example of using social media in my education. Before this I had actually deleted my old Twitter account, and had to create a new one just for this. These past weeks have been eye-opening for sure!
@SunnyStudent19 It would have made the class flow less, and be more static. I'm glad that Twitter is a part if it, even if I'm not that fond of it. It's been an interesting Twitter journey.
12.2 this organization cleans works to clean up the the garbage and plastic that fill the oceans! And you can support them by buying bracelets! #GNED1411
#GNED1411 13.3
If not used with a certain balance in mind, social media can take over and detract from a learning environment. It's almost like that saying about too much of a good thing. Moderation and planning are important to help create and maintain balance in the classroom.
#GNED1411
There are so many constructive ways to include social media in the classroom, at almost any level of schooling! These are ways to go with the flow without getting dragged along.
