Wolf messed around with it a bit, checking through a few basic functions, nodding when everything seemed to work properly.
"You really know your shit."
"Wanna check it yourself?"
It took him some hours... At least it was before evening! He wanted it to work correctly.
The fox really looked proud of his job...
"I got it!"
Getting to work, he had his tech kit with him, now that he needed to change some wires.
Not only that, but the software seemed outdated.
After some touches here and there...
"It's done! You should check this!"
Said with a grin while navigating through the board.
That confidence brought a sigh of relief out of Wolf. He finally seemed to lighten up a bit.
"Alright. Good. That thing's been a pain in my ass all day."
" I see..."
Soon enough, he sat where he could take a closer look at it, analyzing what was busted...
Maybe if he did some stuff here and there it could work again.
"I think I can get this working. But it'll take me some time!"
He said while looking up to the wolf.
"Yeah, I need it to work," he stated plainly.
"At least work enough to be able to communicate with my team. One of my guys knows the tech, but I haven't been able to reach him."
He nodded again when their hands shaked.
But now it was time to work.
"Ah, I see... Noticed something in particular?"
When they got there, he started looking at the workplace the wolf had, rubbing his chin a little.
Wolf huffed. A little too peppy for his tastes, but as long as he could do the job.
He gave him a firm handshake and nodded toward a small bit of busted-up machinery sitting a few feet away.
"Took the dash out to work on the comms. Been busted up all day."
"Wallace, sir! I'm here as you asked!"
Holding his laptop below his arm while offering his other hand for a shake. Still a grin on his face.
His ego is safe! Not like he's going to talk about this.
Wolf glared over at the fox. He wouldn't look it, but he was a bit relieved to see him show up.
Even if it did hurt his ego to call for help-
"You the guy?"
Minutes later, an Uber would drop the fox in front of his place, looking around...
Ah!
That must be him, right? Waving his hand at him in a cheerful way, what a happy fox he was.
