◆ SBI, PNB और यूनियन बैंक सहित देशभर के सरकारी और कुछ निजी बैंक आज से लगातार तीन दिन बंद रहेंगे

◆ यूनाइटेड फोरम ऑफ बैंक यूनियंस ने 2 साल से अटकी 5-डे वर्किंग की मांग को लेकर शुक्रवार को एक दिन की हड़ताल का ऐलान किया है

◆ इसके बाद 12 सितंबर को महीने का दूसरा शनिवार और 13 सितंबर को रविवार होने के कारण बैंक शाखाएं बंद रहेंगी

#WATCH | Delhi | All India Bank Officers' Confederation Delhi President Kushal Gupta says, “Our nationwide strike today centres on four key issues regarding the private banking sector and the government's stance. Regarding the 'Joint Note' settlement we signed in 2024, the Government of India made several promises to fulfil specific commitments within a set timeframe. However, thirty months have passed, and the government remains completely indifferent; they are not even willing to listen to us. That is why we have called for this strike today, a nationwide strike involving all bankers… Our primary demand concerns the implementation of a five-day work week for banking… I appeal to the people of the entire country of India to extend their support to us.”

#WATCH | Chennai, Tamil Nadu | All India Bank Employees' Association (AIBEA) General Secretary CH Venkatachalam says, “Today the strike has been successful all over the country. Nearly eight lakh employees, officers, and managers have participated. The strike has been successful. The main demand in this strike is that, as agreed in the settlement in March 2024, the government should give approval for introducing the five-day banking week. Today, two Saturdays are holidays; the remaining Saturdays are working days. We have agreed to extra working hours from Monday to Friday, and so we have asked for all Saturdays to be holidays… The next strike will be on 28, 29 and 30 September, three continuous days. If it is still not solved, then from October 26 it will be a continuous indefinite strike.”
