Are you going through a challenging season? The Lord invites you to cast your cares upon Him and receive His shalom-peace (Jn 14:27). Today, know that He loves you, and know that the battle is the Lord’s (1 Sam 17:47)!
"... We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts ..." —Romans 5:3-5
The only reason we’re on this earth is to get to know God; that’s all — not to be famous, or clever, or even write books or be somebodies. That’s not what God’s after. God’s after men who are totally, entirely committed to Him in every sense of the word.
There is a big difference in being goal conscious and growth conscious. If you’re goal conscious, you’re focused on a destination. If you’re growth conscious, you’re focused on the journey.
Always remember: growth is not seasonal or annual, it’s life-long. It’s a journey!
We should confess Christ constantly. We should not be ashamed of our Lord and King. We should let people know that we are on His side. In the home, in the church, at our work, and at our play, we should let others know where we stand.
Not only does the Holy Spirit teach us to pray, He also teaches us to render thanks. One of the most prominent characteristics of the Spirit-filled life is thanksgiving.
Begin the day with thanksgiving and prayer. Thanksgiving for the definite mercies of the past, prayer for the definite needs of the present day. RA Torrey. #ratorrey
It is quite the fashion to contemptuously contrast the pray-ers with the do-ers - forgetting that in the history of the church the real do-ers have been the pray-ers, that those who have done the most in the church's history have been, without exception, men and women of prayer.
"When you create an identity by despising other groups, it makes you dependent in many ways on them-the “other” becomes part of who you are. You need them to stay in their place and to fit your stereotypes of them." https://t.co/rXWRDMvp80
