The @NEAQ is doing essential work. And I'm fighting to make sure they have to resources they need—we have to pass the Sea Turtle Rescue and Assistance Act so that future generations will know turtles as friends, not fiction. https://t.co/FvPefK53WK

The waters south of Nantucket have become an important habitat for #NorthAtlanticRightWhales. Our scientists are looking to better understand how right whales are using this area with long-time aerial surveys and, for the first time, boat-based field work. https://t.co/XzNORMReVk
Today, @CenterOceanLife Senior Scientist Dr. Jessica Redfern testified before @NRDems Water, Oceans, and Wildlife subcommittee regarding the additional #conservation and management efforts needed to ensure the long-term survival of all our #MarineMammal populations.

The second identified North Atlantic #RightWhale mom-calf pair of the season has been spotted off the coast of GA! The mother, Snow Cone, was found entangled in fishing gear last March. Her current entanglement + recent calving may prove difficult for her. https://t.co/xUJfjOIPqW
We have data from the 600lb sea turtle we helped release off P-town in Oct!
The pop-up tag showed that the turtle was just SE of the Northeast Canyons and Seamounts #MarineNationalMonument. The dive + temperature data for the last 30 days are consistent with a healthy turtle!
The #NorthAtlanticRightWhale population continues to decline.
Today, the @NARWC announced that the species population dropped to 336 in 2020, an 8% decrease from 2019. The newly released estimate is the lowest number in nearly 20 years.
