Too often, I see presenters delivering their content blankly—as if the content sells itself. But your audience will only be as excited about your point as you are. So splash your face, eat a candy bar, drink some coffee, and SELL it.
When you take a question from the audience, look directly at the person while they are asking the question, but address your answer to the whole audience.
By doing so, you are more likely to hold the attention of the entire room.

To PRACTICE a speech, don't just THINK about what you're going to say and do.
Get on your feet and DELIVER IT ALOUD over and over w/the same volume, emotion, gestures & movement you'll use in front of your audience.

Don't WRITE a speech; CREATE one.
1. Choose a topic and/or direction and approach.
2. Create an outline.
3. Use the outline to develop the speech.
4. Create speaking notes based on the outline.
5. Create visuals.
6. PRACTICE.

A story can be a great #speech starter, but it must also preview your point. Choose a story that illustrates the proposition you’re about to make and make that connection clear. Otherwise, what’s the point?
