Social accountability isn't a one-off complaint. It's a cycle — identify, gather evidence, engage, demand response, follow up, learn.
That cycle is how communities turn education problems into system change.
We're unpacking it live right now with @globaleducation 👇 https://t.co/iga1Axhxhy

What do you think is needed to address educational challenges in your country? Here is a screenshot showing feedback shared by webinar participants at today’s learning exchange. 58% participants indicated “stronger systems for planning, budgeting and accountability”.
Girls in Nkhata Bay, Malawi, were dropping out because their school had no hostel. Kuyenda Youth Champion Dalitso Mtaya raised it with the headmaster, then organised his youth network to donate building materials. Read the full story on Sauti Zote. 👇

In Chiredzi South, the collapse of the Chilonga Bridge has turned a six-hour school journey into a four-day trip during the rainy season. Rural learners and teachers like Megi Chetemu are paying the price. Kuyenda Collective is calling for investment in rural infrastructure, such as education infrastructure.

Zimbabwe’s 15% digital services tax may look fiscally sensible. But as education moves online, it risks widening the gap between urban and rural learners.
If we tax digital tools, we must also fund digital access. Otherwise, we are taxing opportunity.

@USEmbassySA Damage caused by @realDonaldTrump recklessly reducing the scope of aid support offered by @USAID around the globe has significantly set back United States trade objectives. As for the claim of clear rules and predictable decisions… guess those don’t apply to acts of war?
@SAIIA_info Such a good human and quiet champion for democracy & meaningful reform processes to address governance inadequacies in African states. Sincere condolences from @PSAM_AFRICA. Steven Gruzd will not be forgotten & we will continue to support the reforms he had advocated for.
Our audits of national and provincial government have revealed that meaningful progress remains limited, and clean audits continue to be in short supply across the public sector.

We welcome @NPA_Prosecutes action to begin to address corruption in @SAPoliceService top ranks. It’s overdue & requires convictions that will vindicate committed whistleblowers, journalists & constitutional defenders. https://t.co/nGwuzG7rkn
Today we at a @EA_TA_Facility meeting to reflect on how civic actors have & can influence local govt accountability. Is there political commitment to fix local govt, or are leaders pre-occupied with holding onto or securing power at many dysfunctional & corrupted municipalities?
What happens when a child crosses a border… but their education doesn’t follow?
In Chiredzi, migration is quietly disrupting schooling, widening gaps, and pushing learners backwards.

Wise words from @wicks_jeff at the @Rhodes_JMS academic assembly:
- Journalism is a buttress against anarchy. It creates an anchor for accountability.
- Procurement documents can reveal an anatomy of corruption.
- Shadow states represent slow motion capture.
