PSA (formerly known as the Philippine Illini) was formed in 1919 & still goes strong today - fostering and promoting the growth of U of I cultural awareness.
October 1st marks the beginning of Filipino-American History Month!
The first Filipinos landed in Morro Bay, CA on 10/18/1857 &
the U.S. Congress declared October as FAHM in 2009. Fil-Ams are the 2nd largest Asian-American group in
the nation.
