#Writers, I have a question:
How many words do you write on an average day?
And what daily word count feels satisfying or productive to you?
I'm currently around 400 words per day and trying to push that number higher.
Curious to hear what your writing routine looks like. 🤔

Quiet Saturday, good food, family, and this view from home.
Living right next to the beach is something I’ll never take for granted. It’s the perfect place to slow down, clear my mind, and gather ideas before diving back into my manuscript later today.
How are you spending your weekend?

@LuciaOnchain Pretty much the same here. Quiet Saturday, some time at the beach, and enjoyed good food with family. Can’t ask for much more than that 👌
Have a great weekend Lucia!
@GDunzweiler I like that perspective.
Honestly, that sounds like a very productive day. Good luck with the screenplay and the talks with the production company!
@mblacky78 I completely agree with this. Some days, resolving a difficult scene or a plot problem feels more valuable than writing hundreds of words.
Especially when inspiration is low, making progress on the story itself is what really matters. 🙌
96k words and still moving forward sounds like a win to me. Not every year will look the same, but the important thing is that you're still making progress and getting the novel across the finish line. 🙏
And I completely agree about voice. A novel should have room to breathe. That's one of the things I love about books.
@CharlesHaugen14 7–10k in one session is wild. 😂
A week of silence followed by 10k words sounds less like a writing routine and more like a supernatural ability haha
@HaydonKathryn I respect that. At the end of the day, finding time to write is what matters most. For me, though, having a word-count target helps with motivation and keeps me accountable, especially on the days when I don't really feel like writing.
