SE CPT carried out a road safety operation aimed at educating cyclists on the importance of obeying red lights.
Results:
- 2 cyclists issued with road traffic tickets
- 6 drivers given advice about keeping cycle boxes clear

Clamping down on illegal use of off-road bikes, officers have been carrying out patrols with the assistance of the Air Support Unit. As a result of this Operation an illegal electric off-road bike has been seized and the rider charged with numerous road traffic offences.
About 3pm yesterday, officers in Edinburgh responded to reports of a disturbance on Gilmerton Road. Three female youths were traced a short time later and have been charged in connection with this incident.

Officers will be out on foot patrol in the city centre this evening as part of Operation Verbeia, focusing on tackling antisocial behaviour and related crime.

Over the past two weeks, officers have been carrying out proactive road safety patrols outside Gracemount, Gilmerton, St. John Vianney and Frogston Primary Schools in response to concerns from parents about inconsiderate parking and unsafe driving during drop off and pick up.
