The Police Unity Tour, Chapter IX, cycled 254 miles from Philadelphia to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC, climbing about 13,500 feet in elevation. The Tour donated $2.5 million in 2026 to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.
Troopers Flail and German joined other local volunteers for the Bicycle Safety Rodeo at Tender Years Child Development Center in Cumberland County. Children performed skill tests, received instruction, and learned rules of the road and safety tips.
The Capital Area Therapeutic Riding Association provides animal-assisted therapy for residents of central PA. PSP Cadets recently volunteered at the New Day Equestrian Center in Dauphin County. They cleaned stalls, repaired fences, landscaped, and assisted with therapy rides.
Corporal Smyers, PSP Stonington, joined Troopers Abhaisingh and Myers to visit a new junior Trooper. Giovani, a fifth grader at a local school, dressed up as a Trooper for career day. CPL Smyers had him try on a campaign hat to complete the look.
Trooper Paul Holdefer joined other first responders and community members for the Cub Scout Pack 105 Schwenksville Pinewood Derby. The event was held at the Lower Frederick Fire Company Station in Montgomery County.
Troopers brought Citizens’ Police Academy to Governor Mifflin High School in Berks County. Students learned about the tools and techniques used by PSP, including forensics and collision analysis. They toured the State Police Academy and learned about career opportunities.

K9 Rip, currently PSP’s only bloodhound, has assisted with many cases since August. K9 Rip and handler Trooper Petrof have successfully tracked people and discovered evidence across miles of terrain, including dozens of missing or endangered persons and criminal suspects.

On April 26, the Paterno Family Beaver Stadium Run for Special Olympics Pennsylvania drew thousands of participants. Proceeds benefit athletes across PA. Troop G Community Services Officer Trooper Rhymestine helped carry the Flame of Hope and light the main cauldron.
