@ChalkboardHQ First, the Crochet discount on a pitch count and then 2 wbna point discounts from the same team?? Your platform finally gains some traction and popularity and you become scummy. Will no longer be using your app βοΈ
@AlexMonahan100 Would you say that the Chalkboard promos are worth playing? Their payout is usually 0.2x higher than similar parlay player prop sites like Sleeper, but they seem to hit at like a 1/5 rate
Worst case scenario:
Maybe you win a few more ballgames and spend an extra $10 million.
Best case scenario:
You land your team's next superstar and completely turn around your franchise!
So what does all this mean?
Rebuilding teams need to continue to spend money. This doesn't mean that they need to be giving $40 million a year for 8 years or anything but maybe overpay for a veteran that contenders aren't willing to overpay for.
Because on August 1st, 2016, Josh Fields was traded from the Houston Astros to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
In return to Houston?
Yordan Alverez!!!
Now what if Houston had been reluctant to spend any money and not signed Fields?
The Yordan Alverez would not be a Houston Astro!!!
Maybe it's only 1 or two prospects in return but maybe one of them turns into a cornerstone for your franchise.
Here's an example:
How much did Josh Fields help the Houston Astros win in 2016?
Probably not much
How much has he helped them win since 2016?
A TON
Why???
The difference between past and present tanking teams is the talent that they aquire at the trade deadline that then accelerates their rebuild. Bottom level teams should be trying to sign older players to short deals in the hopes of trading them at the deadline.
One thing I think we're missing from this trade deadline and the past few is the number of smaller moves that become impactful down the line. It seems like it's all or nothing now and I think it's the fault of the teams that are tanking.
Let me explain...
My opinions on this:
1. This is a senior that got drafted last year but chose to COME BACK for a chance at Omaha
2. He's obviously a very smart kid and gave a presentation on an alternative to TJ, so he's knowledgeable about the risks
