It is w/ sorrow we report that Professor Willa Silverman – Malvin E. and Lea P. Bank Professor Emerita of French and Jewish Studies, former Head of the Department of French and Francophone Studies, and a wonderful educator, scholar, and colleague – passed away on Sunday, Oct 22.
Prof. Silverman taught at @PSULiberalArts for over 30 yrs, during which time she developed many new courses in French + Jewish Studies, published 3 books and numerous articles (in English + French) and edited several vols + journal special issues on French culture, society & art
