@TheBuccosFan Yup. They were screwed either way. As an ump you need a sec to process it and make the call. Fielder reacted instantly I thought. Again optics weren’t good, but they got it right. I’d be interested to see what would have happened if he completed the play.

@TheBuccosFan The umps were screwed either way IMO bc the fielder didn’t play through it and reacted right as it happened. So if they called it initially it would have looked like the fielder influenced the call.

@chrisstrawmier @KodyDuncanPGH @MLB @Rockies Agreed. If I’m the Rockies manager I am not happy. I think that’s what threw the umpires off as well as the fielder complained right away without allowing the umps to really make a call before he reacted.
