President Trump is addressing the nation tonight at 9 PM Eastern. AMVETS has been asked to be present during this address to represent the interests of veterans. Please tune in and listen to the address. Let me know what concerns you have, what items we can advocate for, and how we can best serve all the veterans of this nation.
Thank you,
Paul Shipley
National Commander AMVETS
Dear Medal of Honor Recipients,
On behalf of all who have served and every member of the AMVET Family, I write to express our profound thanks for your extraordinary courage, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion to the United States of America.
Your actions in the face of unimaginable danger embodied the highest ideals of duty, honor, and selflessness. You placed the lives of your fellow Americans and the security of our country above your own, earning the Medal of Honor—the nation’s highest military decoration. Your bravery not only turned the tide in critical moments but also inspired generations of service members who followed in your footsteps.
Because of your valor, countless lives were saved, freedoms preserved, and the American spirit strengthened. Your service reminds us all what true heroism looks like and why the United States remains a beacon of liberty in the world.
We honor your sacrifice, remember your fallen comrades, and carry forward the legacy you so bravely defended. Thank you for your gallantry, your leadership, and your enduring commitment to our great nation.
With deepest gratitude and respect,
Paul Shipley
AMVETS National Commander
I am going to Sen Johnson's office, Hart 308, after my testimony. He is the senator that blocked the Starr Act yesterday.
I am going to ask him why he wants to steal money from veterans pockets.
Please join today!
I want as many veterans and AMVETS family there as possible.
Hosted a breakfast with our VSO partners this morning. As we reorganize VHA to meet the needs of Veterans for the next 250 years, we’re listening to Veterans. Grateful for the collaboration, communication, and continued commitment to delivering results and putting Veterans first.

I am very upset with @SpiritAirlines
Flying MCO to PIT 7-23-23
I was told that I could not sit in my exit row seat and had to move seats or exit the plane.
I have never been so embarrassed or humiliated in my life!
Do better @SpiritAirlines
As of today, ALL veterans experiencing an "acute suicidal crisis" are eligible for free emergency mental health services at VA & non-VA facilities. Veterans do not have to be enrolled in the VA system. No copays or fees. https://t.co/pc1r8g9k05
More #PACTAct news from @SecVetAffairs at #ALConv2022: "The conditions were supposed to take effect over the next few years, but we’re not going to do that. We’re making all conditions outlined in the PACT Act presumptive Aug. 10 ... & VA will begin processing benefits on Jan 1."
I’m pushing hard for another vote on my bill to deliver millions of toxic-exposed veterans the healthcare and benefits they've earned and desperately need.
It's time to put partisan politics aside, put America's bravest first, and live up to our promises by passing the PACT Act.
Generation after generation, Americans went to war backed by the promise that their country would care for them when they came home—only to face another battle to get the care they were promised.
The Republicans who changed their votes on the PACT Act just prolonged this battle.
