The Ryan Croddick trade got a lot of attention this week, but Dillon Ward is making sure his spot in the lineup is cemented. He has 15 saves and a 63% save percentage tonight.

When assessing the offense, OC Chris Bocklet said the Redwoods were sometimes making an extra pass that actually was a worse angle. That explains that 2-on-0 sequence between Kavanagh and Boehm.

Molloy unable to turn the corner on that play, but he has so much more space to work with having Kavanagh on attack next to him. The defense has just collapsed on him in the first two weeks.

Cullen Brown joins the party and gets his first PLL goal. On draft night, Anthony Kelly said he’s watched a lot of Brown — playing at his Alma mater — and was very adamant and excited about adding him.

Redwoods offense looks really good in the first quarter. 8 goals (scored 9 in each of the last two games) by 8 different players. 6 of them were assisted. The key for California will be to keep its foot on the gas pedal.

Sam English had a great NLL season. He’s looked good tonight. Picking up the ground ball off the wing, moving the ball on offense, and now scoring. Good to see him so involved after his rookie season was cut short.

Boehm with a goal and 2 assists tonight in the first quarter. He’s stepped up big time, and part of him being able to take on this role was the culture created after reading “The Captain Class” together.
