@notshar68948955 Google is free, my guy. Violence against the LGBTQIA+ community still exists in western countries. Just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean it isn’t happening.
@CatsFan3464 Military appreciation nights. Honoring a vet at literally every home game. This team is owned by a West Point graduate. The logo is an homage to military insignias. The Military and veterans are all over this team and its marketing.
@CatsFan3464 Or people can just be gay. Homosexuality isn’t unique to humans. Other species show it too, pretty sure they’re not facing indoctrination.
@ToShills You’re missing the point of Pride Month. It exists to show an oppressed and persecuted population that they are welcome in spaces that have not historically welcomed them. It’s not the individual people that “need” it, it’s the community as a whole.
@CatsFan3464 The fact that you’re calling being gay a personality flaw is why Pride is necessary. Pride exists to combat homophobia and bigotry. When that goes away, so does the need for Pride Month.
@CatsFan3464 November is Veterans and Military Families month. May is Military Appreciation month. But you don’t actually care, you just use it as an excuse to spew hate. White people are historically the oppressors. Pride/History months tend to focus on the oppressed.
@notshar68948955 Pride as an event helps the people in the community feel safe, welcomed, and accepted in these spaces, where they historically have faced violence and persecution. If you don’t see the value in that, then you’re simply part of the problem.
@FredTrenteric Instead, ask yourself how many LGBTQIA+ people have shied away from attending public events they would otherwise enjoy because of bigots
