I see so many saying that we need veterans on this team and here is my 2 cents no one asked for. It makes no sense. This is the year to roll with young talent and see what you have. Maybe they surprise and contend and then you can consider trade. Otherwise why?
Packers' full 2023 schedule (per source):
- Five prime time games even without Rodgers
- Love's first game as full-time starter will be in Chicago
- Thanksgiving in Detroit
- Davante Adams vs. Packers for first time on MNF Week 5
- Super Bowl champs at Lambeau on SNF Week 13
Feels like everyone has a different definition of a rebuild. To me letting free agents walk and trading away 2 players in 2 years isn’t a rebuild. Now if we traded guys like Jaire, Clark, etc, top players for top picks, then I’d agree with rebuild
Yes, the 2023 Green Bay Packers are rebuilding. The salary cap has caught up after going for it the past 2 seasons. They are intentionally getting younger & deeper.
The team is also talented. Rebuilding is not bad, it’s inevitable. This is an exciting team to watch & cheer for!
@mxr124 This team isn’t that different from the previous teams though. Just younger. Why trade pieces that are still very valuable to the team? They’re cornerstones of the defense and top 5 guys at their positions
I definitely get not resigning Lewis, but with a young team he would be a great locker room leader, not to mention couldn’t help the rookies with blocking ability’s
Brenton Cox character issues are concerning but the packers have needed a real mean guy for a long time. Really rooting for him to make the team cause that dudes maybe a 1st rd pick if he hadn’t been kicked off teams
