This is nothing short of a landmark fight for transgender people's freedom and self-determination. These bans are flagrantly discriminatory, passed by politicians who call us "filth" and a "contagion" while forcing families with trans youth to flee their own homes.

UPDATE: @PrincetonISD school board voted to uphold the district’s decisions that discriminated against local LGBTQIA+ organizations.  

It marks one of the first Pride events ever canceled by a government entity in Texas.

The district decided to cancel the event and permanently ban Color Splash Out from renting campus facilities over a minor application error.

This decision is unreasonable and unconstitutional. The Princeton community has a right to celebrate Pride.

After Princeton ISD banned @PTXDiverse from hosting events, Color Splash Out started organizing to make sure the town would still have a Pride event this year.

They repeatedly reached out to the district to ensure the event would be safe and welcoming for all.

UPDATE: Dallas-area @PrincetonISD canceled another organization’s Pride event and has banned them from holding events on campus.

We’re once again urging the district to end its discrimination against LGBTQIA+ groups.

Pride began as a protest and is still a protest 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

That protest will continue until every LGBTQIA+ Texan can live in safety — free from all forms of harassment and violence.

Princeton ISD has repeatedly targeted @PTXDiverse for no valid reason.

Most recently, the district banned the group for donating “banned books” — even though the district doesn’t ban any books.

This is unconstitutional and wrong.
