[READ] June 16 commemorates the fearless youth of Soweto who rose against apartheid’s Bantu Education system in 1976. At the University of the Western Cape (UWC), this history of resistance is not only remembered but lived.

PUG Research co-hosted a workshop with the Mayor’s Office following the findings from our CHEC Sanitation Project. This workshop brought together Khayelitsha residents, City officials, and the Mayor to co-create solutions to improving communication channels and service requests.

Along with a research team from UWC, we held a workshop with residents to think of ways to make fault reporting easier and so improve service delivery.
The City maintains over 50,000 toilets & 10,000+ communal taps in Cape Town’s informal settlements. 🚰
We're working together to keep them flowing, and always want to do more to improve quality of life for all Capetonians.
