@RNSuperHero Interestingly this has been the case in my local trust for sometime - and we have some of the lowest blood incidents. Because people do not rely on that double checking process.
Heres to my first Nightshift in a few hours.
Have I managed to sleep today - not really π€£
It's nearly full moon, it's summer solstice tomorrow - what a time to be on the Nightshift π
Spent yesterday at suicide prevention training as part of placement (it was fantastic).
But I didn't cry, or breakdown.
My nursing degree so far has been a journey - I've grown so much I barely recognise myself and learnt so much about myself. Here's to being nearly half way! π
Best of luck to everyone starting a #puncplacement this week - here's hoping this is the one you find your nursing passion in!
And if it isn't, fingers crossed it's a good experience nonetheless.
Drink water, ask questions, remember to rest. We got this π
Fantastic day with the PDT away day - good to see people other than via zoom for a change!
Some really interesting and engaging discussions about student attrition and raising concerns.
Time for a nap now π
Having a little lie in and a Twitter scroll. Always horrified about #InternationalWomensDay is co-opted into being a transphobic exercise. Feeling deeply for my trans friends today.
"That the Future Nurse Standards do not provide specific guidance on mental health nursing only seems to confirm that the specialism is somehow secondary or dispensable". Great paper which adds to @nmcnews reading list. #MHDeservesBetter https://t.co/lLSTVbVXJE
#punc22#punc23 have you seen turn it in draft coach? It's software from the university, checks your refs and your turn it in 'score' before you hand it in.
Just had a chat about it in a meeting and it's absolutely worth a play, it's so good!

I did another one - this time on the disparity between the two arms of the same workforce.
Especially interesting after listening to a lecture on the relevance of diagnosis in mental health this week!
Catching up on some reading before the world wakes up. A little bit of self-care in the form of soft music, low light and listening to the cars fly past in the rain outside.
