The federal government needs to rethink because this will close the door of higher education on youth

It’s not only deplorable but criminal that federal govt of Pakistan has made a large cut on budget for HEC meant for public sector universities in Pakhtunkhwa while the provincial govt of Pakhtunkhwa doesn’t have provincial higher education commission to facilitate public sector universities. Over the last one decade, higher education in Pakistan in general and in Pakhtunkhwa in particular has been crippled financially and academically. More than 20 public sector universities in Pakhtunkhwa don’t have permanent Vice Chancellors. This educational and governance crisis will eat into the vitals of the country and Pakhtunkhwa with equal measure.

SAL University has been without VC for the last 10 days. I urge the Sindh government to immediately address this issue and appoint a capable VC to restore normalcy in our university.

ملکی معیشت خطرے میں ہے لیکن پھر بھی پشاور کی ایک سرکاری یونیورسٹی کے وی سی نے اسلام آباد کے ایک انتہائی پوش علاقے میں کروڑوں روپے کا گھر بنالیا۔ متعلقہ اداروں کو ان صاحب کے وی سی بننے سے پہلے اور موجودہ اثاثوں کا جائزہ لینا چاہئے تاکہ دیگر وائس چانسلرزبھی کچھ سیکھ سکیں۔
